Biography
Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, is a superhero created by writer Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko for Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in August 1962. Peter Parker was an ordinary high school student until a fateful encounter with a radioactive spider granted him superhuman abilities. After the tragic death of his Uncle Ben, which he could have prevented but didn't, Peter learns the lesson that with great power comes great responsibility. This moral drive shapes his decisions throughout countless battles against various villains. In the comics, Peter has evolved from a teenager dealing with typical high-school issues to a seasoned hero who juggles responsibilities towards his beloved Aunt May, his romantic interests, and his endless list of foes, including the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom. Spider-Man has transcended the comic book page, appearing in numerous cartoons, live-action films, and video games, becoming one of the most recognized and beloved superheroes in popular culture.
